Sealants & Adhesives

Sealants & Adhesives

Sealants and adhesives cover a wide range of jobs on site and around the home - sealing joints around baths, windows and glazing, filling and insulating gaps with expanding foam, bonding trim, panels and repairs with a grab adhesive, and general cleaning, gluing and maintenance work. This collection brings together Ace Fixings' full range of silicone sealants, expanding foam and grab adhesives, along with glues, chemical resin anchors, and the guns, cleaners and accessories that go with them. Installers, joiners, glaziers, plumbers, electricians and maintenance teams use them across domestic and commercial projects, from a single bathroom reseal to a full site fit-out.

The silicone and sanitary sealant range covers acetoxy, alcoxy and neutral-cure formulations, including Sista Sanitary Silicone 280ml, Soudal Sanitary Silicone 300ml, UniBond Trade 7T High Performance Neutral Silicone 300ml and Parasilico Pro Glass Silicone in clear, white, black and anthracite for glazing work — the full silicone range covers every finish and colour stocked. For gaps and voids there's expanding foam from Fischer and Soudal in hand-held and gun-grade formats, such as Soudal Soudafoam Window & Door Expanding Foam Gun Grade 750ml and Fischer B3 Triple X Expanding Hand Held Foam 670ml, plus fire-rated foam for specific applications - check the individual product spec or speak to our technical advice team before choosing a fire-rated product for anything safety-critical. Grab adhesives and hybrid sealant-adhesives come from Soudal's Fix All line, TEC7's Sealant & Adhesive range and Sika's Stixall, covered in full on our dedicated grab adhesives & sealants page. For bonding rather than sealing, the range runs to super glue and wood glue from Soudal, Gorilla and Everbuild's Lumberjack, plus chemical resin and anchoring cement from Fischer and 2R2 for fixing into masonry and concrete - our technical team can help match a resin to a base material where you're not sure. Rounding out the collection are cleaners and sprays including Soudal's Swipex wipes, adhesive remover and glass cleaner, the guns and applicators to apply everything with, and an Ace Doorset Installation Kit that bundles foam, silicone and fixing accessories for a full door fit.

Choosing The Right Product

  • Sealing a joint against water, air or movement - bath, shower, window, glazing? You need a silicone sealant - see the full silicone range for every finish and colour.
  • Filling or insulating a gap around a window, door or pipe? Reach for an expanding foam, and check whether the job calls for standard, low-expansion or fire-rated foam before you buy.
  • Bonding trims, panels, skirting or mirrors without clamping? That's a grab adhesive job - see our dedicated grab adhesives & sealants range.
  • Need something that seals and bonds in one step? Look for a hybrid polymer product such as Soudal's Fix All or TEC7's Sealant & Adhesive range.
  • Fixing into masonry or concrete with a bolt or rebar? That's a chemical resin or anchoring cement job rather than a sealant or adhesive - our technical advice team can help match the resin to the base material.
  • General repairs, gluing or wood joints? Super glue and wood glue cover fast, general-purpose bonding.
  • Not sure which category you need? Our free technical advice team can point you to the right part of the range before you order.

FAQs

What's the difference between a sealant and an adhesive?
A sealant is designed to seal a joint or gap against water, air or movement, while an adhesive is designed to bond two surfaces together. A number of products in this range - Soudal's Fix All line and TEC7's Sealant & Adhesive range among them - are hybrid polymer products built to do both jobs.

What is adhesive sealant used for?

Adhesive sealants are commonly used to bond and seal trims, panels, skirting, glazing and for general repairs in one step, without needing a separate adhesive and a separate sealant. Check the individual product listing for the specific surfaces and conditions it's designed for.

How do I remove old silicone sealant?

Old silicone is usually cut away with a sealant removal tool or blade, then any residue lifted with a proprietary silicone or adhesive remover before applying a new bead - check the individual product listing for application instructions, and ask our technical advice team if you're removing sealant from a delicate surface such as glass.

How long does sealant take to dry?

This varies by product, bead thickness and site conditions such as temperature and humidity, so always check the individual listing for guide times. Most sealants form a skin within an hour or so, but take considerably longer to cure fully through.

Is CT1 a sealant or an adhesive?

CT1 is a specific branded hybrid polymer product, not a stocked line at Ace Fixings, so we can't comment on it directly. Our hybrid sealant-adhesives - including Soudal's Fix All range and TEC7's Sealant & Adhesive line - work on a similar principle of sealing and bonding in one product; check the individual listings for the properties of each.

What does Ace Fixings stock in this range?

This collection covers silicone and sanitary sealants, expanding and fire-rated foam, grab adhesives, super glue and wood glue, chemical resin anchors, decorating caulk, and the cleaners, sprays and guns used alongside them, from brands including Soudal, Fischer, TEC7, Sika, UniBond, Gorilla and Everbuild.

Can Ace Fixings help me choose the right product?

Yes. If you're unsure which sealant, foam, adhesive or resin suits your job, our free technical advice team can help you choose, and individual product listings give the detail needed to compare options.
