Fischer
Fischer is one of the better-known names in fixing technology, with a reputation built mainly on chemical anchors and fastening systems used across construction, joinery and general site work.
At Ace Fixings we stock a practical slice of that range rather than the full catalogue: 1st fix framing nails and a gas-actuated framing gun, chemical resins for anchoring, expanding foams, 2nd fix fuel cells and woodscrews. It's a range aimed squarely at builders, joiners and maintenance teams who need dependable fixing products for timber framing, sealing and general fixing jobs, not a specialist one-off.
What Fischer Products Are Available At Ace Fixings?
We offer a wide range of Fischer fixings, foams and fastening systems.
1st Fix Framing Nails And Gas Nailers
The core of the Fischer range at Ace Fixings is 34-degree strip framing nails for timber-to-timber fixing, available in 2.8mm and 3.1mm gauges and lengths from 51mm up to 90mm, in both ring shank and smooth shank. Some packs are boxed on their own; others are boxed with gas fuel cells included for use with a gas-actuated framing gun. All are CE marked. Options include:

To drive them, there's the Fischer FGW 90F Gas 1st Fix Framing Gun, supplied with 2 batteries, a charger and a carry case. It sits within our broader 1st Fix Framing Nails & Gas range alongside other trade brands.
2nd Fix Fuel Cells
For 2nd fix gas-actuated brad nailers, we stock the Fischer 2nd Fix Brad Fuel Cell, Pack of 2. Always check the fuel cell matches your specific nailer before ordering - our technical advice team can confirm compatibility if you're not sure.
Expanding Foams
Two Fischer foams cover both ends of the job: the Fischer B3 Triple X Expanding Hand Held Foam, 670ml for quick gap filling and insulation without a gun, and the Fischer General Purpose Gun Foam, 750ml for use with a foam gun where more control over application is needed.
Chemical Resins
For anchoring into masonry and concrete, we stock the Fischer Styrene Free Polyester Resin, 300ml alongside vinylester resin in two sizes: the Fischer Vinylester Chemical Resin, 300ml and 410ml. The vinylester resin is approved for use in cracked concrete and masonry and achieves a high load-bearing capacity in these conditions; the 410ml cartridge can also be used in water-filled drill holes.
Woodscrews
Rounding out the range are Fischer Power Fast FPFII Countersunk Chipboard Screws in zinc, with a Pozi drive and full thread for flush installation in wood-based materials.
Choosing The Right Fischer Product
For framing work, gauge and length depend on the timber section and fixing depth - 2.8mm nails suit lighter section timber, while 3.1mm is the heavier option for structural framing, and your framing gun needs to be rated for the gauge you're using. If you're setting up a new gas nailer, it's worth ordering nail-and-gas combo packs rather than gas cells alone, so you're not caught short mid-job.
For foam, a hand-held can (like the B3 Triple X) is the practical choice for occasional use or smaller gaps, while gun-grade foam gives more control and less waste on repeat jobs where you already own or are buying a foam gun.
For resin anchors, polyester and vinylester aren't interchangeable for every application - vinylester is the option rated for cracked concrete, masonry and water-filled holes, so match the resin to the base material and loading you're anchoring into. Where a fixing is structural or load-bearing, check the product specification or speak to our technical advice team before specifying.

FAQs
What sizes do Fischer framing nails come in at Ace Fixings?
Our range covers 2.8mm and 3.1mm gauge strip nails from 51mm to 90mm in length, in both ring and smooth shanks, CE marked and available boxed alone or boxed with gas.
What's the difference between ring shank and smooth shank framing nails?
Ring shank nails have a series of rings along the shank that improve grip and pull-out resistance once driven; smooth shank nails don't have this feature. Check the individual product listing for the shank type on each pack.
What comes with the Fischer FGW 90F gas framing gun?
It's supplied with 2 batteries, a charger and a carry case. Gas fuel cells are sold separately or bundled with selected framing nail packs - check the individual listing for exact contents.
What's the difference between the polyester and vinylester resins?
Vinylester resin is approved for use on cracked concrete and masonry and offers higher load-bearing capacity in these conditions. The 410ml size can be used in water-filled drill holes. If you're unsure which resin suits your base material or application, our technical advice team can help you choose.
Should I use hand-held foam or gun-grade foam?
Hand-held foam (such as the B3 Triple X) is straightforward for occasional gap-filling and insulation without any extra equipment. Gun-grade foam is designed for use with a foam gun and offers more control for regular use.
Do you deliver Fischer products across the UK and Ireland?
Yes. We despatch same day on orders placed before 1pm, Monday to Friday, with free delivery on UK Mainland, N. Ireland and RoI orders over £89 inc VAT. Click & Collect is also available from our Belfast and Ballymena trade counters.
