What are chipboard screws?

Chipboard screws are self-tapping. Their thin shaft will prevent the material from splitting, and their coarse threads will secure the screws to the chipboard. Often confused with woodscrews, chipboard screws have a thread that runs along the screw’s length to the underside of the head. 

Chipboard screws are ideal when looking to fasten chipboard to wood or another piece of chipboard, as these softer woods offer little resistance, and there’s less chance of the screw withdrawing.
